A monetized 8,000-subscriber finance YouTube channel and a 200,000-follower Instagram lifestyle account can cost the same and serve completely different purposes; pretending they are interchangeable is how buyers end up with assets they cannot operate.
The cross-platform valuation principles that hold up
Pricing varies wildly across platforms, but four valuation principles apply consistently and are worth anchoring on before reviewing any specific listing.
- Revenue is worth more than reach. An account with proven monetization history (YouTube AdSense, TikTok Creativity Program payouts, Facebook in-stream ads, X Creator Revenue Sharing) prices at 18–60× monthly revenue depending on platform and stability. An account with comparable reach but no monetization history prices at 10–25% of that, because the buyer is paying for potential, not cash flow.
- Engagement velocity beats follower count. Algorithms read interaction velocity in the first 60 minutes after a post and decide distribution from there. Two accounts with the same follower count and a 5× difference in engagement velocity will perform like two accounts with a 5× difference in audience size. Look at the average likes, comments, and shares on the last ten posts; if it is under 1.5% of the follower count for Instagram or under 4% for TikTok, the audience is functionally smaller than it appears.

- Original-email ownership is the single biggest risk reducer. A listing where the seller hands over the original creation email and removes themselves from all recovery options costs 15–30% more than a listing where the buyer takes credentials but the seller's email remains the recovery anchor. The premium is worth it; the second category is where 80% of post-sale disputes originate.
What escrow does and does not cover at SMProud
Escrow holds the buyer's payment in a segregated operating account from the moment the deal opens until the buyer confirms receipt. The release condition is not "the seller said it transferred" or "the credentials worked at the moment of testing." The release condition is: credentials work, recovery details are fully transferred to the buyer, and the seller no longer appears in any recovery position. That third check is the one we hold for. If a buyer confirms credentials but skips recovery verification and the seller later reclaims, escrow has already released and the buyer's recourse is limited. None of this catches every bad actor, and we are explicit about that. Disputes are reviewed by support staff with platform-specific expertise — meaning, a YouTube dispute is reviewed by someone who has handled hundreds of YouTube transfers, not a generalist. Resolution typically lands within five to seven business days; complex cases involving platform support tickets can run longer.
Payment methods and what each implies for protection
Buyers can fund escrow through bank wire, ACH, USDC, or major credit card. Card payments carry the strongest secondary protection because the buyer retains chargeback rights through the issuer if SMProud's escrow somehow fails. ACH and wire are cheaper but final once funds clear. USDC is the fastest path for international buyers and removes most cross-border friction, but, like wire, it is final on confirmation.
